As an expert in technical accounting matters, SEC reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, Mr. Conway will expand the firm’s professional practice capabilities by serving as a subject matter expert to partners, teams and clients in complex areas of accounting and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
“We are thrilled to welcome Bob Conway to the leadership team at CNM,” said CNM Managing Partner and Founder, Nathan Matthews. “Bob is highly regarded throughout the public accounting profession as a foremost expert in auditing quality, accounting, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and corporate governance. Prior to the PCAOB, Mr. Conway enjoyed a 26-year career with KPMG, including 17 years as audit partner. At KPMG, Mr. Conway specialized in audits of companies in the technology, pharmaceutical, automotive, manufacturing, retailing, and transportation industries.

Among his most significant professional achievements, Mr. Conway submitted a recommendation to the United States Treasury Department’s Advisory Committee on the Auditing Profession (ACAP) in 2007, which was publicly credited with driving ACAP’s recommendation for the PCAOB to evaluate the benefits of transparent disclosure of audit firm operational metrics. The PCAOB adopted Audit Quality Indicators (AQIs) as a strategic priority in 2012 and published a Concept Release on AQIs in June 2015.

Mr. Conway holds an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, graduating with distinction as a Tuck Scholar, and he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of California, and has been a lecturer on the subject of Advanced Accounting at the University of California, Irvine.
