Charles Johnson is a Director in CNM’s Los Angeles office with 12 years of experience in public and private accounting. His primary expertise is in project management, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) risk assessment, process walkthroughs, internal control documentation, design and operating effectiveness testing, key report and spreadsheet testing, and deficiency assessment. He has led several client engagements through post-IPO SOX implementation, SOX-readiness, internal control improvements, recurring annual SOX testing, and targeted department-level internal audits.
Prior to joining CNM, Charles worked at Deloitte as an Audit Manager, where he planned, coordinated, and conducted integrated financial statement audits for various public and private companies. He managed multiple teams of up to ten people performing SOX procedures and substantive testing on all in-scope financial statement line items. He helped his primary public client navigate through required internal control improvements, as well as their COSO 2013 implementation. In addition, Charles spent one year as the Accounting Manager for a marketing company managing a team of four. He helped the company develop accounting policies and procedures, draft financial statements, and complete a successful first-year audit.
