Daniel Paul is a Director in CNM’s Woodland Hills office with over 11 years of experience in accounting and advisory services. His primary experience is within the financial services industry providing internal and external audit services, as well as business advisory services to a variety of clients within the financial services and fintech industries. Daniel has deep experience managing internal audit engagements, SOX engagements and process improvement projects. Daniel is responsible for overseeing the broader engagement approach and execution, review client deliverables for technical accuracy and prepare certain deliverables which are higher in complexity. Daniel will also review any potential gaps in the process with recommendations for improvements and discuss our conclusions with client management.
Prior to joining CNM, Daniel worked at Ernst & Young as a Manager of Global Treasury Services. While there, Daniel spent 7 years in EY’s assurance practice with a concentration in the financial services industry. In this role Daniel served banking and capital markets clients which included banks, broker-dealers, specialty finance companies and credit and leasing companies. Daniel has a strong understanding of financial reporting requirements (US GAAP and IFRS) and Sarbanes-Oxley 404 and experience with SEC, FINRA, and CFTC regulatory requirements. Daniel later joined EY’s Accounting Advisory practice where he developed and led their Treasury Audit division. Daniel helped grow the practice through core offerings such as internal audits and SOX audits, while also developing specialty audits over processes such as payment security, hedge program effectiveness, IT diagnostics, and credit collections. During that same period, Daniel improved quality review results by designing an internal review program that investigated over 100 engagements per year. This resulted in a decrease in reviews with critical findings.
