Jeffrey Weiss is a Managing Director in CNM’s Orange County Compliance and Risk Advisory practice with over 12 years of experience in Internal Audit, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance, and consulting.
SOX Compliance:
Jeffrey’s SOX compliance experience includes advising pre-IPO companies on internal controls, leading and successfully implementing year-one SOX compliance programs and supporting management with on-going SOX assistance under 404(a) as an emerging growth company and 404(b) compliance. He brings forward industry experience and leading practices to design a streamlined internal control environment, guides clients on adopting external audit and PCAOB standards, and seeks to maximize external auditor reliance and optimize the cost of compliance through his familiarity and collaboration with the Big-4 audit firms.
Internal Audit:
Jeffrey’s internal audit experience includes leading and executing co-sourced and ad-hoc internal audit engagements for public and private companies with revenues of $1 billion or greater. Jeffrey has performed annual risk assessments to guide the development of an audit plan, advised clients on internal audit trends (e.g. continuous monitoring, data analytics, digital) and emerging risks, and delivered value added recommendations to improve business processes and internal controls.
Prior to joining CNM, Jeffrey was a Director at Protiviti within their Internal Audit and Financial Advisory practice. At Protiviti, Jeffrey worked with national and multi-national SEC registrants as well as private companies to standardize and streamline operational processes, strengthen financial controls in compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and improve compliance with applicable policies, standards, and regulations. In addition, Jeffrey served as west coast Higher Education and Pharmaceutical / Life Science industry lead and was a recurring speaker on the topic of compliance at the Association of College and University Auditors (ACUA) conference.
