Karem (Taj) Tariq is a Managing Director in CNM’s San Diego Office with over 12 years of experience in public accounting. His primary expertise is in technical accounting research, SEC & financial statement reporting, IPO readiness, Sarbanes Oxley implementation, and testing and process flow charts and narratives. Taj has worked in various industries, including consumer products, technology, life sciences, energy, restaurants and hospitality and industrial manufacturing.
Prior to joining CNM, Taj worked at KPMG as an assurance senior manager, where he planned, coordinated, and conducted integrated and private financial statement audits. Their size and complexity ranged from privately held growth stage entities to multinational publicly traded entities. He performed SOX 404 procedures and substantive testing over various areas, including revenues, inventories, debt modifications & extinguishments, equity instruments, goodwill, intangibles, long-lived assets, exit & disposal costs, cost & equity investments and business combinations. Taj also analyzed 10-K and 10-Q regulatory filings to assess compliance and financial performance, and to facilitate the timely completion of respective audit and review procedures.
